Ms. Andrea has over 35 years of experience in the dance industry. She also holds a Bachelors degree in Management and Minor in Marketing from Southeastern Louisiana University. Ms. Andrea's dance experience includes, former Co-Captain of her high school dance team (The Lionettes), formerly associated with LSU's Golden Girls choreographer, as well as being highly involved with Southeastern's dance program. She has also attended and won several dance competitions with her dance and choreography capabilities.
Miss Meg Walker (Choreographer) - Miss Meg has over 25 years combined experience in classical dance training. She has studied and performed with Jean Leigh Academy of dance (1 year), Dance by Trudie (15 years), Phyliss' Dance Boutique (3 years), The Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre (4 years), the Hammond Ballet Company (Senior Member 1 year), Fellom Ballet (1 year), and The American Musical and Dramatic Academy based in New York City (1 year). She was Captain of the Louisiana All-Star Dance Force for 2 years and has performed in the 2002 and 2003 BCS Sugar Bowl Half-Time show. Miss Meg began teaching at The Dance Company in August of 2007 and enjoyed every minute of it. In January 2009, she auditioned for the American Ballet Theatre and was accepted to study with them in Bermuda in August 2009. Her goal is to travel with The Dance Company sharing the love of God through the gift of movement.
Mrs. Natasha McMorris (Choreographer)- Mrs. Natasha has over 17 years combined experience in the dance industry. She studied and performed with Jan LeBlanc Dance Academy for eight years. She then became a French Settlement Junior High and High School cheerleader. As co-captain her junior year and captain her senior year, Mrs. Natasha thoroughly enjoyed cheering and dancing in support of the French Settlement Lions for six years. After graduating from FSHS, she attended Southeastern Louisiana University earning a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (1-8). Mrs. Natasha has been teaching eighth grade reading and English at FSHS for the past eight years and teaching at The Dance Company for ten years. Her goal is to continue to share her knowledge and passion for dance with others by teaching in a caring, Christian environment.
Mr. Andrew Hutchinson - Gymnastics & Cheer Coach - Andrew started training in gymnastics in Gulfport, Ms, when he was 11, at Laniers Gymnastics. He competed as a level 7 gymnast for two years. At age 13, Andrew began helping his coach at practice then eventually leading the tumbling practice and becoming head tumbling coach. Mr.Andrew taught gymnastics and tumbling for 6 years before helping with cheerleading. He started coaching tumbling for a cheerleading team and also helped with the cheer choreography. He has been employed by The Dance Company since August 2009. He is an excellent addition to our gym and cheer programs here at TDC!
Ms. Courtney McMorris (Choreographer) - Ms. Courtney has 10 years of experience in the dance industry. She began dancing at the age of three at Irene & Dee's in French Settlement. Ms. Courtney danced for two years with Jean Leigh, and she continued to use her dance experience by participating in gymnastics at Leaps and Bounds for one year. At the age of seven, she joined The Dance Company for its opening year. Ms. Courtney studied and performed ballet, lyrical, tap, and jazz with The Dance Company for five complete years. She also enjoyed dancing as a Frost Falconette during her eighth grade school year at Frost Elementary. She played four years of basketball at Frost. Courtney played four more years of basketball for Doyle High School. Ms. Courtney graduated from Doyle High in May 2010 and plans to further her education in the fall by pursuing a career in cosmetology. Her goal is to nurture our young dancers and share her love and passion for dance with each of them.
